Catch the beat: Drums, dance and music for all ages!

Bi-Okoto Drum & Dance Theatre at Arlington Heights Memorial Library

Join us for an entertaining all-ages event this weekend! Allow Bi-Okoto Drum & Dance Theatre to take you on an interactive journey from the USA to West Africa. The richness of the African culture is revealed through performance, featuring a broad range of dance dialects and styles with joy, high spirits and excitement. Enjoy folk stories too. All ages invited.

About Bi-Okoto

Members of the group envision a world where individuals, families and communities take pride in their cultural heritage while appreciating the cultural expression of others. Their mission is to preserve, promote and share the rich cultural heritage of Africa and Africans using drums, music, dance, food, languages and other arts.

Bi-Okoto currently tour and perform in 48 states in the US. The artists have also toured internationally representing Nigeria in South Korea’s Youth Festival; Presidential welcomes in Italy, Germany, Bulgaria and France; and was selected by the United States Armed Forces Entertainment for five-week military tours in the United Kingdom, Norway, The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium where seven artists performed for troops on American and United Nation bases, in honor of Black History Month from 2003-2005.

This non-profit multicultural performing arts organization has operated since 1994 and is based in Ohio.
