CCSD21 teacher receives state Award of Recognition

CCSD21 Art teacher Steve Hamann was recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education with an Award of Excellence as part of the “Those Who Excel” award program. The program honors individuals who have made significant contributions to schools throughout the state and have made an impact on the lives of their students.

In nominating Hamann for the award, one colleague said, “Not only is Steve always willing to help every student succeed, he is consistently available to help his colleagues as well.”

“Mr. Hamann demonstrated a deep knowledge of art, a remarkable ability to inspire, and the experience and patience to foresee what beautiful artistry lived inside each one of us,” said a former student in a nomination letter.

Hamann has worked in CCSD21 for 20 years.
