The Lawrence Avenue Roadway and Streetscape project located in the City of Chicago began in 2008, with the goal of rebalancing the roadway back toward pedestrians, bicyclists and greenspace by improving the roadway and streetscape to safely accommodate pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular traffic on the road.
The CBBEL team paid special attention to green infrastructure, installing energy-efficient lighting, nearly 200 trees, new planters, and recycling/re-using materials where available.
