Class Act: Former Teacher Gives Away Free School Supplies

Find out how you can claim the classroom items—like boxes of books and markers—this Arlington Heights woman is offering at no charge.

As the month of May sets in, Chicago-area schools are winding down for the summer.

But a former teacher from Arlington Heights recently posted an offer online that might have teachers and parents already looking ahead to the next school year.

Last week, Kari Castor posted the following message on her Facebook page, following up with a posting over the weekend on the popular social media and news platform, Reddit:

If you're a teacher interested in stocking up on supplies for next year before the bell rings to close out the last class of this year, you better hurry. Castor has been marking the supplies that have been snatched up already, and that list of items is growing.

Supplies that aren't claimed will be donated to Goodwill, Castor says.
