Community Bike Ride Returns To North School Park In Arlington Heights
The event is organized by the Arlington Heights Bicycle and Pedestrian Commission.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Residents and community members are invited to take part in the village's 2026 Community Bike Ride on Saturday, May 9, at North School Park. The event is organized by the Arlington Heights Bicycle and Pedestrian Commission, with registration beginning at 9 a.m., check-in at 9:45 a.m., and the ride set to start at 10:15 a.m.
The village is encouraging participants to register online before the event. Participants are asked to complete either a child waiver form or an adult waiver form and choose which route they want to ride.
The Community Bike Ride will offer two route options, a short route and a long route. The short route is 2.7 miles and the long route is 9.0 miles. Both routes will begin and end on Eastman Street, just south of North School Park.

Organizers said the routes are intended to be enjoyed at a non-race pace. Helmets are strongly encouraged. Water and a small snack will be provided for riders.
Participants can bike to the event or use free public parking in the garage just south of North School Park. After returning from the ride, participants are encouraged to stay for the village's Swing Into Spring event, which begins at 11 a.m.

The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission assists in the development of comprehensive plans for bikeways within the village. It consists of seven members, all residents of the village, appointed by the Village President with consent of the Village Board to three-year terms.
