Cops Capture Man Accused of Locking His Cousin in a Dog Cage and Beating Him
The accused was staying in his cousin's Des Plaines apartment when he abused him and then stole his car, according to the sheriff.

A 27-year-old man wanted in connection with an aggravated domestic battery incident — in which his cousin was put in a dog cage and had hot wax thrown on him — is now behind bars himself.
William Bailey, of Grand Rapids, MI, who was staying in his cousin’s apartment in unincorporated Des Plaines, was apprehended on Sunday in Berrien County, MI, by local authorities, the Cook County Sheriff’s Department said Friday.
A $500,000 arrest warrant was issued for him last week for aggravated domestic battery.

Bailey remains in custody at the Berrien County Jail, pending extradition.
Detectives responded to an area hospital on Sept. 30 on a report of a battery. They learned the 47-year-old victim had been battered by Bailey, who punched the victim and confined him to a dog cage, according to the investigation. He threw hot wax on the victim, and the victim was burned with cigarette lighter.

The victim was able to escape and went to the home of a neighbor, who called for help. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Bailey fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, a gray/silver 1992 Toyota Camry. He was found Sunday in the victim’s vehicle.
