Couple Used Nazi Symbols, Feces To Vandalize Republican Building: Arlington Heights PD

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Following a nearly two-month investigation into the defacement of the Republicans of Wheeling Township building, police have made two arrests. Brock McNerney, 72, and Moisette McNerney, 69, of the 1200 block of E. Clarendon Avenue, Arlington Heights, were taken into custody Monday without incident, according to the Arlington Heights Police Department.

They were charged with two misdemeanor offenses — criminal damage to property and criminal defacement of property — and released pending their initial court appearance.

At around 11 p.m. Jan. 25, video surveillance of the incident shows two people defacing the front windows of the building at 909 E. Rand Road, where the political organization is headquartered, with a permanent marker. Police found Nazi symbols and several curse words on the windows.

In addition, Arlington Heights police discovered feces and an unknown liquid on the walkway leading to the office door of the Republicans of Wheeling Township. The video surveillance footage was released to the public several days after the incident.

Arlington Heights police thanked the public in providing information related to this investigation.
