Crash Closes Northwest Highway, Mount Prospect Road Intersection For Hours

Mount Prospect police were asking drivers to use alternate routes while officers investigate the crash.

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — A crash closed the intersection of Northwest Highway and Mount Prospect Road in Mount Prospect, police said Tuesday afternoon.

At around 11:15 a.m., Mount Prospect police said officers are conducting an investigation at the intersection and traffic was unable to pass through the area.

In an update, police said the intersection and all lanes of traffic had been reopened as of 4:34 p.m.

Motorists were being asked to find alternate routes until the intersection reopened.

The intersection is in downtown Mount Prospect near the Metra corridor.
