ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Authorities have arrested a “person of interest” after a man and woman were found dead early Saturday in Arlington Heights. The incident is being investigated as a double homicide, according to a news release from the Arlington Heights Police Department. The names of the man and woman allegedly killed in the incident have not yet been officially released and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office will review the case on Sunday in an effort to determine a cause and manner of death.

Arlington Heights Police officers responded to a single-family home in the 0 to 99 block of S. Derbyshire for a well-being check after receiving a 911 call from the residence at about 12:32 a.m. Someone dialed 911 at that time from inside the residence but “no discernable conversation took place,” according to authorities.

Officers responded and found two people “with traumatic injuries,” according to police.
