Driver, 77, Killed In Mount Prospect Car Crash: Police
The two-car crash closed portions of two roads for over six hours Tuesday, according to police.
MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — A 77-year-old Mount Prospect woman died Tuesday afternoon as a result of injuries sustained in a two-car crash. Portions of two roads were closed for six hours for the subsequent investigation.
According to police, Jacqueline Bridges went into cardiac arrest while being attended to by paramedics at the scene and later died at Northwest Community Hospital. The driver of the other car, a 29-year-old Des Plaines resident, and a passenger in that vehicle, reported no injuries.
The crash happened at around 12:20 p.m. at the intersection of Rand Road (Route 12) and Euclid Avenue. A Kia SUV, driven by Bridges, and a Mazda SUV were involved. A preliminary investigation has revealed Bridges was traveling northwest bound on Rand Road when it struck the Mazda, which was turning left onto eastbound Euclid from southeast bound Rand Road.

Mount Prospect police are being assisted by the Major Case Assistance Team's Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team in the investigation. The cause of the crash was still being investigated as of Wednesday afternoon.
Portions of Rand Road and Euclid Avenue were closed and reopened at approximately 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.
