Driver Found With Loaded Handguns, Fentanyl: Palatine PD

The Algonquin man was charged with three felonies after being pulled over for a traffic violation late Wednesday night.

PALATINE, IL — An Algonquin man was charged with three felonies, including armed violence and fentanyl possession, after being pulled over for a traffic violation late Wednesday in the area of Route 53 and E. Dundee Road. Christopher L. Larson, 31, of the 0-10 block of Camberwell Court, was charged with the following:

  • one felony count of armed violence
  • one felony count of possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl) with intent to deliver
  • one felony count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance
  • one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia

According to police, Larson was pulled over just before midnight Wednesday for the traffic violation. Police found two loaded handguns, controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia.

Following a detention hearing Thursday, Larson was ordered detained in the Cook County Jail until his next court date on Feb. 10.
