Driver Killed After Fiery Crash At Hoffman Estates Toll Plaza: Police

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL — A driver was killed Thursday morning after crashing their car into a toll plaza on Interstate 90 near Hoffman Estates. Illinois State Police tell Patch the crash occurred at around 4:24 a.m. at the Jane Adams Memorial toll plaza at the Barrington Road exit.

Police said a preliminary investigation reveals the car struck the plaza, became engulfed in flames, and the solo occupant of the car was declared deceased at the scene.

There were traffic delays near the crash throughout the morning due to the investigation into the crash.
