Drunken Driver With Multiple DUI Offenses Found With Booze In Car: Palatine PD

PALATINE, IL — A Chicago man with multiple prior driving under the influence offenses was arrested for felony drunken driving last week in the 900 block of E. Dundee Road. Dorel Costiuc, 57, of the 2900 block of N. Kolmar Avenue, was charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol (prior DUI convictions), DUI alcohol, and improper lane usage stemming from the incident last Tuesday.

Costiuc appeared in court Friday and is due back in court on Sept. 10.

According to Palatine police, at around 2:15 a.m. July 15, officers saw a black Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Costiuc, commit several lane use violations. During the subsequent traffic stop, police found open alcohol inside the vehicle.
