Arlington Heights Man, 78, Died of Hypothermia, Exposure to Cold

The Cook County medical examiner has determined an elderly man who was found dead outside his home last week died of exposure to the cold and hypothermia, the Daily Herald reports. Cardiovascular disease was also a contributing factor for the death of Marvin Miller, 78.
His body was found outside his home at Thorntree Terrace and Crabtree Drive in Arlington Heights around 6 a.m. Thursday by a newspaper delivery person, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Miller was a member of St Edna Catholic Church in Arlington Heights where he served as a long-time usher, according to his obituary. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed taking family trips to Canada. He is being remembered as a “Jokester” who loved to share his wit and stories with everyone, according to his obituary.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights. A visitation will also be held starting at 9 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 North Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights, and will be held up until the funeral mass at 10 a.m.

Interment will be held at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles.
