Elk Grove Township Launches Back to School Blast Off! Program
In-need children who attend CCSD59 schools will receive donated school supplies through this yearly program.

More than half of the families in Elk Grove Township are experiencing financial hardships, which many times makes it difficult for them to purchase necessary school supplies for their children at the start of the school year.
In response to this issue, Elk Grove Township initiated the Back to School Blast Off! program in 2016, where school supplies can be donated at a dozen locations throughout the Township between now and August 18, 2017 and then are donated to CCSD59 children when they start school in the fall.
“The need for basic school supplies for the school year is something that many of us might not think about,” said Elk Grove Township Supervisor Mike Sweeney. “This program provides an important emphasis on being prepared for school, and allows these children to focus on learning.”
