Elk Grove Township Offers Free Career Seminars This Fall

Elk Grove Township residents are invited to attend a free career seminar call Behavioral Interviewing on Thursday, September 19, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. until noon at the Elk Grove Township Employment Resource Center, 2400 S. Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights.

The seminar will include education on five steps that will help job seekers get prepared for their next ideal job:

• 1) Identifying the ideal job for you,
• 2) creating a Messaging (Resume, etc.) that emphasizes your skills and abilities to do that job,
• 3) creating a job search Action plan to meet decision-makers (networking),
• 4) “Passing the Tests” (interviewing), and
• 5) Job Offer Negotiations.

Behavioral Interviewing is a type of interview that some employers use that focuses on the applicant’s approach and behavior in performing their job duties. If done properly, the interviewer drills down to identify specific actions the person took in helping their past employers achieve their objectives. It can be very intimidating to an applicant…unless you are prepared and understand how they work.
