ENA hosts grand opening celebration at Schaumburg headquarters

The Emergency Nurses Association welcomed members from across the country and local dignitaries on Thursday for a ribbon-cutting celebration

The Emergency Nurses Association hosted members from across the country and local dignitaries on Thursday for a grand opening celebration at its new headquarters in Schaumburg.

ENA – the premier professional nursing organization dedicated to defining the future of emergency nursing – moved into its 44,000-square-foot, fully remodeled, home on East Woodfield Road in August. Thursday’s event brought together past ENA presidents, current board members, construction and design partners, the Schaumburg Business Association, Schaumburg Village Trustee George Dunham and U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi to mark the next exciting chapter in the association’s 48-year history.

ENA President Jeff Solheim and 2017 President Karen Wiley performed the official ribbon-cutting duties during the party that highlighted the association’s history and showcased the building’s modern design.

“Is this not amazing?” Solheim asked the crowd of 100 who attended the event. “This building was built because of nurses. This is ENA’s building, but we are only here because of those came before us and made this possible for us.”

With 43,000 members worldwide, ENA advocates for patient safety, develops industry leading practice standards and guidelines, and guides emergency health care public policy.
