Euclid Avenue Closed Following Storm Damage
ComEd crews are working to clean up damage after utility poles were downed during a powerful storm Monday.

A portion of Euclid is expected to be closed through this morning’s commute after strong winds downed utility poles along the busy thoroughfare in Arlington Heights.
The short but powerful storm passed through Arlington Heights during the late afternoon hours on Monday, bringing heavy rain, lightning and strong winds, according to an Arlington Heights Police Department press release.
Police received several reports of trees down on roads, vehicles and a report of a tree that went into a home, according to the news release. Several ComEd utility poles were down along Euclid Avenue between Waterman Ave. and Rand Road following the storm.

ComEd crews were working to remove trees that downed the utility poles and then remove tangled wires and debris and replace the utility poles, police said.
“Motorists should plan on Euclid and associated feeder streets being closed from Waterman to Rand through the Tuesday morning commute. It is suggested to plan accordingly for increased traffic in the immediate area,” according to the news release.

Residents and businesses in the affected area may be without electric service until Tuesday morning. Any questions regarding ComEd service should be directed to: residential service - 1-800-EDISON or business service 1-877-4-ComEd-1.
