Fire Interrupts Arlington Park Fireworks Show

A fire broke out late Saturday at Arlington Park Racecourse, briefly delaying the fireworks show. The Arlington Heights Fire Department was called at 9:50 p.m. to a report of a storage trailer fire during the show. The fire, clearly visible to spectators in the grandstands, was put out in short order with no injuries.

The show did feature a fireball, but it’s not clear if the fireworks caused the fire.

Arlington Park tweeted at about 10:15 p.m. that the show would resume, although some people left the show before that happened. Here’s the grand finale.
