UPDATE: Girl Missing From Elk Grove Township Located And Safe

UPDATE (8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20) — Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart said the teenager has been located and is safe.

DES PLAINES, IL — A 13-year-old is missing and endangered from unincorporated Elk Grove Township. Valeria Abarca was last seen Wednesday at her home in the 7500 block of Elmhurst Road near Des Plaines, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

Abarca is believed to have left the residence sometime between 10 p.m. that night and 1 a.m. on Thursday. She is described as 5 feet tall, approximately 130 pounds, medium complected, with long brown hair, brown eyes, and pierced ears. She has a scar from a previous burn on the back of her right hand. She was last seen wearing green, brown, tan, and black camouflage pants, a black sweatshirt, and black Vans shoes.
