Gun Fired During Fight Near Rolling Meadows High School: Police
Extra police presence has been assigned to the school since the Wednesday incident.

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL — A fight between two juveniles resulted in one brandishing a gun and firing it Wednesday near Rolling Meadows High School. According to police, while the incident appears to be isolated, no threats to the school community have been made, but there will be an increased law enforcement presence at the 2901 Central Road school.
Police responded to the fight Wednesday after a report was made several hours after the incident occurred. During the fight, no one was injured as a result of the gun being fired.
During the subsequent investigation, police were able to identify the juvenile who fired the gun, and he was charged with aggravated battery and unlawful use of a weapon. Police said the gun was recovered.

Rolling Meadows police said it will continue to work with the school and District 214 "to bring this incident to an appropriate resolution."
