Guzman Y Gomez Mexican Kitchen Opens In Schaumburg
Started in 2006, the multinational restaurant chain has more than 150 locations.

SCHAUMBURG, IL — Headquartered in Australia, Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen continues adding restaurant locations across the United States. Among the latest is one that recently opened at 795 E. Golf Road in Schaumburg.
The proprietors tell Patch that when the restaurant opened to the public on Jan. 19, Guzman y Gomez sold more than 4,500 bowls and burritos on that first day. For some, it was nearly a two-hour wait, but the restaurant said it was able to get diners their orders in under four minutes. Since then, a full menu has been rolled out and a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held.
"Schaumburg is an ideal location for us because of its vibrant community life and friendly population," Steven Marks, Guzman y Gomez founder and CEO, said. "We can’t wait to introduce our favorite flavors to the suburb and call this great neighborhood our home."
