Hate Crime Charge Following Violent And Racist Texts: Des Plaines PD
The 40-year-old, who was upset with the victim, was arrested Saturday, according to police.

DES PLAINES, IL — A 40-yer-old Des Plaines resident is facing a felony charge of hate crime, and was arrested Saturday, according to police.
Paul Holland was making threats and had texted the victim, with whom he was upset, multiple times threatening violence and making references to the victim's race, police said.
Holland was arrested at 9:24 p.m. Aug. 3, in the 1000 block of Hollywood Avenue. When taken into custody, police said he refused to make any statements regarding the incidents.

Holland was held for a detention hearing following the arrest.
