High School Students Invited to Handcraft Delicious Promposal

Simply picking up the phone and asking your crush to the high school dance seems to have gone by the wayside. Today, the act of asking a date to the high school Prom has taken on a whole new meaning, thanks to the evolution of the “Promposal.”

With Prom season right around the corner, elaborate choreographed productions are all the rage these days and there's an original “handcrafted” proposal you will want to know about. High school students across the Chicagoland area are being challenged to put some “meat” into their big dance proposal, and come up with their most creative and downright delicious ask yet … and they will get rewarded for their ingenuity.

While the average cost of a Promposal has been estimated to be $324 (according to VISA spending study, 2015), there is no dollar requirement for this handcrafted dance proposal. The high school students just need to make sure that a Culver's ButterBurger is somehow included in the promposal that would take place at one of the 25 restaurants* in the Chicago and suburban area.

From now through Friday, April 19, the first couple to visit one of the 25 participating Culver’s locations* across Chicagoland and “prompose” will receive their own handcrafted boutonnieres and corsages to wear to the dance. One of the 25 participating Promposal couples will also be selected (on Thursday, April 25) to receive an Ultimate Promposal Package for Prom preparation pampering (including dress, tux rental, hair/makeup/nails and transportation to the dance) valued at $500. And that's not all -- the grand prize winner will be treated to a post-prom party for 20 high school students at a select Culver’s restaurant, complete with ButterBurgers, Cheese Curds and Fresh Frozen Custard.

To enter the Promposal Challenge, the high school student should notify the manager on duty at the participating* Culver's restaurant and/or take a photo or video of the Promposal.
