Worker Killed In Elk Grove Village Fire Identified: Cook County

The Tuesday morning fire occurred at a semi-tractor repair facility near O'Hare International Airport.

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL — A Spring Grove man, who was working at a semi-tractor repair facility near O'Hare International Airport that caught on fire Tuesday morning, has died from his injuries.

Oskar Dziadon, 50, died at 10:19 p.m. Tuesday, at Loyola University Medical Center, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner. His identity was released Thursday. As of Friday morning, a cause of death was still pending.

The incident occurred at the Pan Am Trucking facility at United Lane and Pan Am Boulevard in Elk Grove Village. Firefighters battled the blaze for several hours.

WBBM-TV reports four truck trailers, two semi-tractors, and eight personal cars were damage in the fire. There was also light exterior fire and heat damage to the building. About 140 ComEd customers in the area lost power for a period Tuesday, but it was restored later in the day, according to WBBM-TV.
