Inaugural Youth Baking Contest Planned For Arlington Heights

Sign-ups for the event, hosted by the Arlington Heights Historical Society, run through Saturday.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Do you know a kid between the ages of 6 and 16 that knows their way around the kitchen? If so, make sure to enter them in the inaugural Arlington Heights Historical Society Youth Baking Contest.

Sign-ups for the event, scheduled for Aug 19, conclude Saturday and can be done here.

According to the Arlington Heights Historical Society, entries must include:

  • a cake recipe that includes at least one flavor of Arlington Club Soda
  • a picture or video of the baker using the soda to bake

Celebrity judges will choose the winning cake based on creativity, appearance and taste. First prize is $100, second prize is $50 and third prize is $25.
