Local Dentist Swaps Drill for Laser!

Dr. Michael Errico is offering his patients a new technology that that is changing the way people feel about going to the dentist

A Rolling Meadows dentist, Dr. Michael Errico, is swapping the drill for a laser. Dr. Errico is offering his patients a new technology that is changing the way people feel about going to the dentist!

Dr. Errico is only one of few dentists in the Chicagoland area that is offering a safe and gentle alternative to traditional dental tools.

Using laser and water spray, Dr. Errico performs many routine dental procedures (i.e. filling cavities) without a shot or a drill. The technology uses light energy and water eliminating the loud noises associated with a drill and gives the patient a virtually pain free experience.

“Many people are afraid of going to the dentist because of the dreaded drill screeching in their ear,” says Dr. Errico. The laser sounds like a bumble bee or popcorn popping. As a result, it relieves the fear and anxiety associated with seeing a dentist.”

The Water and Laser technology combines water, air and laser energy for safe use on human tissue in the mouth. “Our teeth are partially made up of water and when the laser makes contact with the tooth it excites the water molecules to cut through the tooth,” explains Dr. Errico.

“Since the laser continuouslyarrow-10x10.png sprays out water it keeps the tooth hydrated preventing heat while eliminating pain.”
