Local pediatric office recognized both locally and internationally for outstanding care

David Brottman MD, CEO of Arlington Pediatrics said, “We are so honored and humbled by these awards.  Our lactation team is second to none and provides unbelievable care. We are different than many providers because our lactation consultants are both registered nurses and board certified lactation consultants. We are also able to provide prenatal, back to work classes and sponsor two breast feeding support groups. We are breastfeeding friendly and continue to advocate for breastfeeding”

According to Liz Brooks, President of ILCA, “This recognition highlights the efforts being made by maternity facilities all across the world to help mothers get off to a good start with breastfeeding, and to support them in reaching their goals. IBCLC is the premiere internationally recognized lactation certification in the world, and IBCLC certificants are highly skilled in helping mothers with the questions and concerns that can arise. They are also an important part of the overall maternal and child health team by assuring that evidence-based policies and practices are in place that help mothers succeed with breastfeeding.”

Plans are underway to expand the services at APL including more classes, more video FAQ’s and a conference for healthcare providers this fall to encourage and increase awareness of breastfeeding issues in our community. “We are so excited to present our seminar to local healthcare providers this fall”, said Karen Dickert RN, IBCLC, “Dr Brottman has been so supportive of all of our programs and initiatives”
