Local Running Group is Making a Difference

Busse Woods Running Club is inviting people to get out and on their feet through their free programs.

For the 3rd consecutive year, Busse Woods Running Club(BWRC) is partnering with Runners High n Tri in Arlington Heights to host their annual FREE Couch to 5K Program(C25K). BWRC is a local 501(c)3 non for profit organization as a charter member or Road Runners Club of America. The no membership fee Club offers a variety of free programs in the community in an effort to promote walking and running as contributors to a healthier lifestyle.

The 10 Week C25k training program offers 3 sessions per week designed to get participants to the 5k finish line. Participants will follow a walk/run program that will gradually increase the run portion as the program progresses. It's been a huge success with almost 100 participants in total over the first 2 years.

The event kick off and informational session will be held Thursday March 19th @7pm at Runners High n Tri in Arlington Heights. The first training session will take place on Tuesday March 31st. This year's goal race for the program is the North Shore Classic 5k to be held Sunday June 7th in Highland Park. For more information on C25k please CLICK HERE

Once participants cross the finish line their experience with BWRC does not have to end. The Club has a transitional program called Run TMC(Thirty Minute Crew). Run TMC participants meet 2-3 times per week to walk, jog, run, or any combination thereof for 30 minutes. Details on Run TMC can be found HERE

The Club also offers free weekly group runs and a free 18 week summer marathon training program beginning in June. Visit their website for more info: https://www.busserunners.org/
