Main Street Opera is Proud to Announce Auditions for the 2015 Season!

Audition Announcement
Main Street Opera is excited to announce auditions for our 2015 season!
We will be presenting Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini) and Madama Butterfly (Puccini), as well as various
concerts throughout the year.
Il Barbiere di Siviglia
Performances: July 10, 12 and 24th (we are
looking to book additional performances around
these dates, on the weekends – so plan also for
July 17-19, and 23rd)
Rehearsals: Start mid-May. Evenings and
weekends.
Madama Butterfly
Performances: September 11, 13, 19 and 25th
(again, we are looking to book additional
performances around these dates, on the
weekends – so plan also for September 20, 26-27)
Rehearsals: Start end of July. Evenings and
weekends.
We are casting all roles (some double cast) and covers. All singers will be paid a small stipend.
To schedule an audition, please submit the following to auditions@mainstreetopera.com :
SUBMISSION MATERIALS:
1. Headshot & Resume (Recording/Video if available)
2. Preferred audition location and time (morning or afternoon)
Deadlines for materials will be Monday, February 2, 2015. Singers granted an audition will be notified via
email by Feb 9th.
We will make every effort to accommodate your preferred audition date and time as scheduling permits. We’ll
review late submissions as time permits.
Audition fee is $10 – accompanist provided (MSO Music Director).
AUDITION DATES:
February 14, 2015: 10am to 5pm – Chicago, IL
February 15, 2015: 1pm to 5pm – TBD
February 28, 2015: 10am to 5pm – Arlington Heights, IL
The specific location and address will be confirmed with your notification email.
If auditioning for a leading role, please bring 3 pieces – one must be in Italian, and preferably from one of the
operas. Those auditioning for ensemble and smaller roles may bring two pieces – one in a foreign language of
your choosing.
