Male Steals Vehicle From Police Station, Causes 4-Car Crash In West Suburbs, Cops Say
The key was inside, the engine was running and the owner was standing nearby when the male stole the vehicle, Schaumburg police said.
SCHAUMBURG, IL — A male stole a vehicle from in front of a police station then caused a four-vehicle crash Saturday in Schaumburg, according to authorities.
The collision occurred shortly before 4 p.m., police said.
The vehicle was outside the police department — with the key inside, the engine running and the owner standing nearby — when the male stole it, according to authorities.

The male drove the vehicle east on Schaumburg Road and crossed into oncoming traffic near Lambert Drive, hitting a westbound vehicle, police said, adding debris from the crash struck two more vehicles.
No one was hurt and the male was taken into custody, according to police.
