Man, 24, Shot Dead In Hoffman Estates: Police

The South Elgin resident was found with a gunshot wound to the face Saturday morning in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL — A South Elgin man was found shot to death Saturday morning in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Hoffman Estates. Maurice Hill, 42, was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries at around 6 a.m., according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

An autopsy revealed Hill succumbed to a gunshot wound to the face.

Police arrived at the scene at around 5:42 a.m. following a report of shots fired at Barrington Lakes Apartments. Police found Hill lying in the parking lot. Firefighters took Hill to the hospital.
