Man Charged With Felony Reckless Discharge of a Firearm: Palatine PD

The 29-year-old Palatine resident reportedly shot rounds into the air in September.

PALATINE, IL — Following a nearly two-month investigation, a Palatine man is behind bars for allegedly firing rounds from a firearm into the air. Zaurbek Bogov, of the 1200 block of East Prairie Brook Drive, is accused of felony reckless discharge of a firearm, and was arrested Tuesday after he turned himself in.

Following a detention hearing Wednesday, Bogov remains in the Cook County Jail. He is due back in court on Dec. 1.

Police responded to the 1200 block of E. Prairie Brook Drive on Sept 9 for a report of a male shooting rounds into the air from a firearm. During the subsequent investigation, police found several shell casings, but no offender. The casings were collected and sent to the Illinois State Police crime lab to be analyzed, which led to Bogov being identified as the offender.
