Man Killed After Jeep Collides With Semi-Truck In Mount Prospect

The 24-year-old Chicago man, along with another, were rushed to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital after Saturday night's crash.

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — A 24-year-old Chicago man was killed Saturday following a traffic crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of Dempster Street and Linneman Road. Stefan Bell was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police responded to the area at around 5:49 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a Jeep flipped over with a semi-truck resting on top of the Jeep, according to a news release. The preliminary investigation revealed the impact of the crash resulted in the Jeep rolling over and coming to rest on its roof.

Both occupants of the Jeep were transported to the hospital. The other occupant of the Jeep remains in the hospital, according to the news release. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured as a result of the crash.

This traffic crash is currently being investigated by the Mount Prospect Police Department Major Crash Investigation Team, along with the assistance from the Major Case Assistance Team’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.
