Man With Loaded Gun Flees Cops On Bike In Palatine: Police
The 18-year-old Des Plaines resident is accused of a felony, as well as other charges, following the Friday incident.

PALATINE, IL — A Des Plaines man was charged with a felony after fleeing from police on a bicycle while in possession of a loaded gun, according to police. Kevin Antonio, 18, of the 1700 block of East Oakton Street, is accused of a felony charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon (loaded firearm), as well as misdemeanor counts of resisting a peace officer and criminal trespass to property, following the Friday night incident.
The Cook County State's Attorney's Office approved the charges. Antonio was released following his arrest, and assigned a court date of Tuesday.
According to police, officers were conducting patrols in the area of the 1800 to 1900 block of North Green Lane at around 8:10 p.m. when they saw Antonio. Police recognized Antonio and were aware that he had been previously trespassed from the apartment complex property.

As officers attempted to make contact, Antonio fled, initially on a bicycle and then on foot, police said.
According to officials, a brief foot pursuit ensued, ending in the 1900 block of N. Baldwin Road. During the pursuit, officers saw Antonio remove a handgun from his waistband and throw it over a nearby fence in the 1700 block of Clear Creek Bay, police said.

Officers subsequently took Antonio into custody and recovered the loaded handgun, according to officials.
