Man Smoking Cigarette Robbed in Arlington Heights Alley: Police

The Arlington Heights Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of robbing a man in a service alley behind an Arlington Heights business over the weekend.

Police said the victim was approached from behind while smoking a cigarette behind Fox & Hound, 910 West Dundee Road in Arlington Heights, at about 8 p.m. on Saturday. The suspect placed an object to the victim’s head, which the victim believed to be a gun but never actually saw, Arlington Heights Police Department Commander Nathan Hayes said.

The man demanded money and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, Hayes said. The suspect is described as a black male who is around 6 feet tall with a heavy set. He was wearing dark clothing and a black hoodie.

Arlington Heights police have not received any similar reports in recent months. Anyone with information regarding the robbery should contact Arlington Heights police at 847-368-5300.
