Man Uses Deadly Weapon In Assault: Arlington Heights PD Blotter
The accused was charged with aggravated assault following the incident on E. Canterbury Drive.

Steven H. Crespo, 40, of the 1800 block of E. Canterbury Drive, Arlington Heights, is accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and was arrested at 3:56 p.m. Nov. 22. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 7, 2025.

- Andres Garcia Sanchez, 27, of the 1700 block of N. Rose Street, Palatine, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 5:39 p.m. Nov. 22, in the 3500 block of N. Kennicott. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 7, 2025.
- Mykhaylo Makogon, 37, of the 800 block of W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, is accused of DUI alcohol, DUI alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 7:23 p.m. Nov. 23, at Rand and Arlington Heights roads. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 7, 2025.

INCIDENTS
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
A citizen called police at 4:40 p.m. Nov. 18, to report two males had set a port-o-potty on fire at Hasbrook Park, 333 W. Maude Ave. One was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt and light-colored pants. The other was wearing a gray-hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
THEFT
- A resident in the 500 block of S. Reuter Drive reported that between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Nov. 18, someone had stolen a package containing cellular phones from his front porch. The person may have been driving a red Dodge Journey.
- A citizen called police to report that at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 22, someone had stolen her wallet from her purse at Marshalls, 392 E. Rand Road, and then made unauthorized purchases with her credit cards.
STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE
A citizen called police at 11:22 p.m. Nov. 18, to report someone had stolen his beige 2004 Audi from the parking lot in the 2200 block of S. Goebbert Road.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE
A citizen reported that between 5 a.m. and 7 p.m. Nov. 20, someone shattered the front passenger window of his red Kia and tampered the steering column while it was parked in the 1200 block of E. Fairview Street.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee of Jewel, 1860 S. Arlington Heights Road, reported at 10:50 p.m. Nov. 19, someone had stolen $400 worth of merchandise. The male was described as black with dreadlocks, wearing a gray sweatsuit and gray hat. The male left in a black Nissan Rogue.
