Memorial Day in Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights boasts one of the largest Memorial Day parades in the state.

The 96th annual Memorial Day parade, which is one of the largest in Illinois, will be held on Monday.

The parade will step off at 9:30 a.m. at Arlington Heights Road and Sigwalt (in front of the Arlington Heights Village Hall). The event is organized by the American Legion and Veterans Memorial Committee of Arlington Heights.

Last year, more than 3,500 people marched the parade while thousands watched along the 1.25-mile route.

This year “Thank You Vets” signs will be distributed by the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce to be displayed in businesses, schools, churches, etc. Also, during the parade, 1,000 signs will be passed out to participants along each side of the parade route.

Immediately following the parade, the Memorial Day Ceremony Program will be held in Memorial Park at Chestnut and Fremont.
