Metra Train Strikes Vehicle Near Arlington Heights

The Monday morning incident led to extensive delays for both inbound and outbound trains, according to Metra.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A Metra train struck a car Monday morning near Arlington Heights, leading to extensive delays for both inbound and outbound trains. The train, outbound No. 611 on the Union Pacific Northwest Line, struck a car at around 10 a.m. at Rohlwing Road, a Metra spokesperson told Chicago Sun-Times. There are no current reports of injuries.

The crash happened northwest of the Arlington Park station, 2121 West Northwest Highway and Wilke Road.

Metra said on its website some trains "may be expressing, operating out of sequence or annulled." The No. 611 train terminated service at Barrington. Train No. 613 will accommodate passengers to Crystal Lake.
