Mount Prospect Man Killed Trying To Cross Street: Des Plaines PD
The 41-year-old was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries from the Thursday evening incident.
DES PLAINES, IL — A Mount Prospect man died Wednesday night from injuries sustained after being hit by a car in Des Plaines. The 41-year-old was rushed to an area hospital following the crash, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to Des Plaines police.
Police said an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Police responded to the crash in 700 block of S. Elmhurst Road at around 9:32 p.m. A preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2015 Toyota Highlander traveling northbound on Elmhurst Road from Dempster Street struck the male who was attempting to cross Elmhurst Road. Firefighters attempted life-saving measures on the man before he was taken to the hospital.

The driver of Toyota remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the investigation, according to police.
The crash closed northbound Elmhurst Rd. between Dempster Street and Kathleen Drive for several hours.
