Mt Prospect Man Convicted For Trafficking Fentanyl In Suburbs: Feds
The 24-year-old also illegally possessed an AR-15 style firearm and three handguns while trafficking other drugs, including heroin.

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — A federal jury last week convicted a Mount Prospect man for possessing multiple illegal firearms while trafficking drugs like fentanyl in several Chicago suburbs. Omari Andrews, Jr., 24, has been in federal custody since 2023. His sentencing is set for Dec. 18.
According to prosecutors, Andrews faces a maximum sentence of life in federal prison.
Andrews was found guilty of possessing an AR-15 style firearm and three handguns while trafficking fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, and marijuana in Mount Prospect last year. Prior to trial, he pleaded guilty to distributing fentanyl and heroin in Westmont, Villa Park, Des Plaines and Hillsdale in 2022 and 2023.
