Mt. Prospect Man Crashes Into Tree In Des Plaines: Police
The driver was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries following the Friday afternoon crash.
DES PLAINES, IL — A 41-year-old Mount Prospect man lost control of his car Friday afternoon before striking a tree in the parkway. Police said he was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
No one else was injured in the single-car crash, which remains under investigation.
According to Des Plaines police, a preliminary investigation has revealed the incident occurred at around 12:40 p.m in the 900 block of Elmhurst Road. The driver was traveling southbound on Elmhurst when he lost control of his beige Volvo, crossed over the northbound lanes of Elmhurst Road, before ultimately struck a tree in the parkway.

It is unknown at this time why the driver lost control of his vehicle.
Northbound Elmhurst Road, between Algonquin Road and Thacker/Dempster Street, was closed for approximately two hours as a result of the crash.
