Nominations Sought for Hearts of Gold Program

Do you know of an outstanding teacher, neighbor, volunteer, young student, or someoene who lives or works in Arlington Heights and is deserving of a special recognition for all they have done? If so, please consider nominating them for one of the 11 awards that are part of the Village’s annual Heart of Gold Awards program!

There are many deserving people in our community who help others, make an outstanding contribution to their organization, or put in extra effort to make a difference - these are people worthy of nomination for the “Arlington Heights Hearts of Gold” awards program.

Nominations must be received by 5 p.m. Monday, November 30. It does not take long to nominate someone, and anyone who lives or works here is eligible for this great recognition. The Village’s Special Events Commission has held this event for over 15 years and it is a great way for our community to recognize others who do their part - minor or big - in making Arlington Heights the great place it is.

When making your nominations, please include as much detail as possible. The Hearts of Gold program, sponsored by the Village’s Special Events Commission, recognizes people who live or work in the Village and whose contributions have positively affected the lives of others. If you know of an “unsung hero” who has made a difference in your life or the lives of others, consider nominating them for a Heart of Gold award for appreciation of all the great work they have done. The Hearts of Gold Award categories include: Mentor, Beautification/Environmental, Best Neighbor, Educator, Young at Heart, Young Champion, Volunteer, Community Spirit, Pam Stocking Heart of Gold, Business Leadership, and Heroic. Current Village Board members and current members of the Special Events Commission are not eligible for nomination.

The Hearts of Gold Awards will be presented February 20, 2016 at Rolling Green Country Club. The event is open to anyone who wishes to pay for a reservation. For more information on attending the event or receiving a nomination form, email nkluz@vah.com or call 847-368-5104.
