Officials ID Arlington Heights Man Killed in House Fire

The 68-year-old died in a house fire in Arlington Heights earlier this month.

A 68-year-old man who died during a house fire in Arlington Heights earlier this month has been identified as Wayne Dziubala, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The origin of the fire at 1618 West Waverly Court and the cause of death for Dziubala remains under investigation, the newspaper reports.

Dziubala’s 30-year-old daughter and 68-year-old wife were able to get out of the house when the fire broke out at about 2 a.m. on Oct. 6, according to ABC 7 and police reports. The daughter was taken to Loyola University Medical Center for treatment and her mom was transported to Northwest Community Hospital where she was treated and has since been released.

When firefighters arrived to the blaze, they found one of the home’s residents in the front yard and another in the back yard and learned a man was still trapped inside, according to an Arlington Heights Police Department press release.

Firefighters entered the home and found Dziubala dead inside. The fire was contained to a hallway in the home and was brought under control within 10 minutes, the Chicago Tribune reports.
