Organizers Of Elk Grove Village Pride Seek Donations: GoFundMe

The fourth annual celebration is planned for June 22 at the Pavilion.

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL — Established in 2000, the Elk Grove Village Pride Celebration is preparing for its annual event next month. With the growth of the parade, organizers are looking for donations to help with the costs for the "fun-filled day" with local LGBTQ+ organizations set to share information, along with a Queer art fair, music, live entertainment, and more.

The event is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Garden Terrace at the Pavilion, 1000 Wellington Ave.

Recently, organizers started a GoFundMe campaign, with a goal of raising $1,000. As of Thursday afternoon, the goal has been reached with a total of $1,030 raised, but donations are still being accepted.

According to Autumn Carney, who started the campaign, all donations will go toward the cost of location rental, payment for the live entertainment, decorations, snacks/water bottles, supplies for the craft table, and any other general planning costs. Carney said extra money will be donated to a Queer associated organization.
