Police said owl was 'most likely' hit by a car.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The Arlington Heights Police Department shared photos Thursday of a rescue that took place last weekend, thanks to local authorities. In a Facebook post, police said a great horned owl was rescued after he was found in the middle of Dundee Road near Quentin Road. Police said the animal was most likely hit by a car.

The department credited Arlington Heights Animal Warden Geier rescuing the owl, who is now being cared for at Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation.
