Paczki Day 2023: Where To Find Paczki Near Arlington Heights

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Paczki Day is less than three weeks away and local bakeries are already getting phone calls for orders of the beloved deep-fried Polish confections. This year, Paczki Day is set for Feb. 21 or Fat Tuesday, one day before Christians around the world start the Lenten season with Ash Wednesday.

For those who have never tasted a paczki, pronounced pownch-key, they are Polish doughnuts, usually filled with jelly. Paczkis sell like hot cakes across Chicagoland as many bakeries start taking orders for them weeks in advance. Here's a roundup of some places where you can buy paczki in the Arlington Heights area.

Oak Mill Bakery

Sweet T's Bakery & Cake Studio

There are no pre-orders available, but plenty of flavor options, including fresh strawberry, banana, chocolate mousse, Oreo, peanut butter and jelly, apple, blueberry, peach and salted caramel. Get your paczki from Feb. 16 through Feb. 21.

If you're looking for authentic paczki, look no further than KD Market, a local Polish grocery store chain. Since 1998, the market has been offering a wide range of European and domestic products, including smoked meats, freshly baked breads, pastries, scratch-made meals and authentic Polish paczki. The traditional paczki is handmade at KD Market with plum butter, raspberry and rose hip flavor friend in lard with filling inside. Delivery or curbside pick up on pączki orders is not available. Tuesday, Feb. 14, is the last day to place orders for Fat Thursday. Sunday, Feb. 19 is the last day to place orders for Fat Tuesday. Minimum order is one dozen.

Central Continental Bakery

101 South Main Street, Mount Prospect
The fourth generation bakery has been proudly serving Mount Prospect since 1979. Online ordering is underway. The annual Paczki Fest runs from Thursday, Feb. 16, through Tuesday, Feb. 21. All orders must be placed by 1 p.m. for next day pick-up and must be pre-paid. King cakes are also available. Flavors include apricot, cream cheese, chocolate-iced custard, lemon, prune, raspberry and strawberry.

Deerfields Bakery

813 Waukegan Road, Deerfield and 201 N Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove

Paczkis are available starting Feb. 7 through Feb. 21. Online ordering ends on Feb. 19. Jarosch Bakery

Since 1959, the family-owned business has been pleasing customers with their delicious creations. From Feb. 6 through 21, paczki and King's cakes will be available in the store. Online ordering can be done until 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18. Phone ordering is available through noon on Monday, Feb. 18, at 847-437-1234. Flavors include apple, cheese, custard with chocolate, pineapple, raspberry and strawberry.

Peterson's Tasty Delight Bakery

This small family-owned and operated business has been dedicated to the art of pastry since 1998. Pre-order forms available. The last day to order for pick-up on is Friday, Feb. 18. Flavors include key lime, lemon, fresh strawberry and Bavarian cream, chocolate pudding and cannoli.
