Palatine Man Critically Injured After Crashing Car Into Tree: Sheriff

The 28-year-old was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center with life-threatening injuries following the early Saturday morning crash.

UNINCORPORATED WAUCONDA, IL — A Palatine man sustained critical, life-threatening injuries after driving his truck into a tree early Saturday morning in unincorporated Wauconda. According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, the man was taken by ambulance to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

Police were called to the crash at around 4:40 a.m. in the area of Fairfield and Chardon roads. The man, who had been driving a 2016 GMC Sierra, required extrication from the vehicle by the fire department.

A preliminary investigation shows the driver was traveling southbound on Fairfield Road when for an unknown reason he crossed the center line and left the pavement on the east side of the roadway. The vehicle then crossed a driveway and struck a large tree head-on. =

Police said the crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office technical crash investigations unit.
