Palatine Man Nabbed With Child Porn Videos, Images On Computer: Police

A cybertip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children led to the arrest of the 37-year-old.

PALATINE, IL — A Palatine man remains behind bars after it was discovered he had numerous videos and images of children under the age of 13 engaged in sexual activity. Alfonso Benitez-Hernandez, 37, of the 2100 block of N. Oakbrook Circle, is accused of felony possession of child pornography and was arrested Wednesday, according to Palatine police.

Benitez-Hernandez, who had a detention hearing Thursday, remains in the Cook County Jail. He is due back in court on May 3.

Detectives launched an investigation after receiving a cybertip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. An "extensive" led to the arrest.
