Papierniak Named New Arlington Heights Public Works Director

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The Village of Arlington Heights recently named Cris Papierniak as the new director of public works. He had previously worked as assistant director of public works for Arlington Heights since 2014.

Papierniak’s seven years of experience as Assistant Public Works Director includes the direct management of large-scale projects and oversight of streets, forestry and grounds, fleet services, and building maintenance responsibilities, according to a news release.

“I have been blessed to have worked with the creative and dedicated men and women of this department for the last seven years and I look forward to the challenges we will face together in the future,” Papierniak said in the news release. “We have a lot of impressive projects that are currently underway, as well as a well-rounded plan for future improvements. I’m happy to be able to re-invest the knowledge I’ve gained throughout my career, back into the Village of Arlington Heights.”

Papierniak attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. He is also a licensed professional engineer and has served as the director of public works and engineering for the Villages of Cary and Prospect Heights.
